Subwoofer repairs can run $200-300+ and the sub is returned with a 30-90 day guarantee. You will need to pay shipping to-and-from a repair facility.

To do a repair yourself, you would need the service manual (with its circuit diagram), a volt/ohm meter, suitable soldering equipment, etc. Many manufacturers consider the service manual to be proprietary.

You could check with Velodyne on whether it is possible to purchase a replacement amp.

You can consider a replacement plate amp from Parts Express but none of their amps would be servo.

You could consider an Epik Empire (dual 15") subwoofer or some of the other high quality sub offerings in the under $1000 range. The Hsu VTF3.4, Outlaw LFM-1 Ex subwoofers are quite well regarded.

You want to save an eighteen year old, 10" subwoofer?

Instead, replace the sub with a delivered Klipsch, RW-12d from Newegg.com. In my opinion, doing that is a better expenditure of your money.

New, technology, new amplifier and new 12" driver technology. Overall a much better use of your money.

Currently, with newegg provided discount code, you can get the RW-12d delivered, for $299.99.

What you get out of the deal is a delivered upgrade with warranty for about the price of the repair of your smaller, technologically outdated, 10" subwoofer that you have to pay to send in to get a repair "estimate."

The Velodyne F-1000 is a 10" sub with an 80 watt RMS amplifier. Doesn't seem like it would be worth fixing to me unless you can get the parts practically for free.

Maybe not, but there is a Velodyne owner's thread here, and Velodyne support people go there regularly, so why not go to the source?

Something makes me think you have not been on the Forum much lately if you are recommending them.

Haha I was just thinking the exact same thing.

And if you will, note how a recommendation was not made to stop by the Epik thread to read up on what's what with what regarding Epik's current business situation.
