Looking for mesh recommendation to paint for cabinetry

We're putting our front speakers in these left/right cutouts & would like to add a mesh like material to paint & match the white wood around it - similar to the 2nd/3rd picture below.

Is there a preference between metal mesh vs. fabric mesh?

Also - any reputable on-line vendors I can get one of each from?

Appreciate any feedback!

once you decide here are two sources

GOM FR701 fabric from Fabricmate.com

Perforated metal mesh from McMaster-Carr.

Man - that GOM FR701 looks killer but I am afraid dirt & dust would ruin it besides kids/

Probably leaning towards perforated metal mesh.

TripleM, FR701 is most often used for office cubicles, it is rugged and it can be vacuumed and wiped clean with a damp rag.
