have a 1980's Onkyo TX-88, great receiver no complaints. I want to upgrade this receiver to a comparable receiver and move this one to the garage. Need suggestions. Thanks

really it depends on the speakers I buy. I love my music loud when im home alone to the point the windows shake in the house!!! However at my age neil diamond and the eagles make the kids laugh! we also use the receiver to run the tv, dvd player through to watch movies. Any how, we want to run 2 sets of speakers in 2 rooms. I would love to be able to run 4 speakers in one room and 2 in another but if its too costly i will just get a cheap system for the bedroom. I also want to replace my dcm kx 212 speakers with something smaller and just as loud. Thanks

A 7.1 AVR will allow you to power up to a 5.1 setup in the main zone and 2CH in Zone 2. For info on the current Denon XX13 models, review post #2 in the Denon AVR-XX13 Owner's thread linked in my sig.
