The Visio reviews are pretty good as long as it's in movie mode. Black levels aren't the greatest but it's an LCD. Couldn't find anything inthe Samsung. Being a plasma I'd ASSUME it has better blacks but can't be certain. I bought a C550 a few yrs ago and returned it because I wanted better blacks and picture adjustments. It also had a weird thing where it'd change the zoom depending on what I was watching and would have to reset it. Traded it in for a c7000 and it has a much better picture (minus the pink banding that I'm now seeing and will be getting the panel replaced.) if you like the picture on the Visio I wouldn't hesitate to keep it, especially since its so much bigger. If not, go plasma. I definitely believe that the higher end sets do give a better picture but you just have to decide if its worth it to you. I also spent an extra $500 to upgrade so...
