No channel guide again.

Machine is not connecting to RTV server, I am not to concerned about that due to all the bad weather around the country. Don't know where the servers are but there may be a problem it the area the are.
What concerns me is that usually when there is no channel guide I will be able to go past the time that it no longer exists and have the channel guide page with no information, this time I can go to 6PM today and can advance no further. Has this been changed or have I got other problems?
Have done the usual, changed zip, phone number etc. but it just will not connect.
Any suggestions?

My Guide was about to run out yesterday, which means I was failing to connect (and also failing to notice this) for about a week. Had to keep trying to connect (by changing zip) about 4-5 times on Sun afternoon; I cancel when the connection is not brisk, and try again later. Eventually had success, and then did a net connect, so for me the servers are still working.

You're doing the right thing; just keep trying.

You don't mention the type of connection... dialup? network attached?
If dialup, what type of home phone service do you have? POTS, Cable, VoIP?

You don't mention if you're trying to connect directly to ReplayTV's servers, WiRNS? LaHo?

If you do a 243-zones, at what point does it die?

lost my guide also.. after aLot of screwing around.. finally, Changed call in number, and, got up to date.. Many times, on Other phone #, I would get ALL the info, time ,everything... then, it Crashed... at the end, saying, network error.. I use phone dialup.. HOPE this is solved again, do you Think, they are just Shaking us down about the Same time every year?? Good Luck with yours!

Again, ReplayTV doesn't have anything to do with the operation of the dial-up lines. They simply contract out the dial-up service with the local providers. The dial-up service is provided by AT&T, EarthLink, and others. ReplayTV simply contracts with them to provide the local service. As fewer users subscribe to dial-up service, the service is going to diminish more and more, and that is what you are seeing.

My Unit was up for around 10 days and the programming ends tonight and I cannot connect. The message I keep getting is that the phone is not answering and another on that says that the server is not answering. My other machine has full program guide.
Just about to pack it all in but the fact that I have lifetime subscription keeps me from doing so at this time. I had trouble wit AT&T before I change to cable phone number may be going through them and not Sprint which my cable Co. uses

Are both of your units dialup?
Have you made sure both of your units call the same number?
Are both units connected to the same phone line?
Did you listen for dialtone and try dialing the number using a handset on the problem connector?
Could the unit having trouble have a phone line wrapped around a power cord or some other problem that degrades the signal?

Are you saying you are now on a cable company phone service that uses Sprint for LD? Are you calling a local or LD number?
Are you saying that your previous AT&T POTS (plain old telephone service) had problems too?

Both are dialup
Have tried all the primary and alternate numbers available.
Yes
When the number is dialed you here static like sound, silence then a busy signal.
Phone line is clear.
Three years ago when I had AT&T it stopped connecting to the local number and I had to use LD, too pricey so went to cable and have had no problem till last month except for when we all had a problem
Today my other machine did not connect.
Not really sure how to hook up the the internet but I have cable and router so may give it a shot if this does not clear up soon.

I suspect the cable company changed the way the encode the calls or route LD and now the modems of the Replay aren't reliable.

If you have a 4k or later, best solution is a local network.

Do you have WiFi? If you, you simply get a router that supports "client" mode (sometimes called game adapters), and use that to connect your devices to the internet.
