Hi,
My thread at http://www.avsforum.com/t/1457401/external-blu-ray-writer-doubling-as-standalone-player seems to be eliciting scratched heads...so let me ask here, too:
Is there a Blu-ray player that can work as both a conventional standalone player and an external multiple-format disc-reader for computers??
I have to have a DVD+R read by a netbook (it's the recovery disk, actually; long story) and thought that I should purchase a unit that can also double as a standalone player to go, via HDMI, with my Epson projector. Any such thing on the market today?
Would be great if it connects via USB 3.0 and also up-converts standard-definition DVDs to 1080p (even 720p would be nice), though all I need is DVD+R readbility for my netbook and Blu-ray playback for my projector.
Thanks!!
