Speaker System 5.1 Not Working (New Set up?)

So apparently my brother put the master speakers (the one that controls the volume) too close to the Sub-woofer and now it doesn't Turn on... i guess the magnet fried* the circuits ,SO, What can i do we the other 4.1 speakers ?

Will any cheap receiver get the job done ?

I just want to at least be able to use 2 of the speakers to connect it to my ipod !!

I've never heard of one of those control modules being damaged by the subwoofer. I would contact Tiger Direct or the manufacturer to see about getting a warranty replacement.

Naa, the system was pretty old .... i just want know if i can do something with the other speakers...? if not, i'll just throw them in the trash and buy a new ones..

I would consider getting an Onkyo 414 receiver, which is around $190. That is a lot of bang for the buck.
