I've spent several hours researching speakers for l/c/r. I've been able to narrow it down to three different models but have hit a wall. I'm considering HSU HB-1, Chase M-1, and ARX A1b.

My biggest question mark though is would I be better off building three Karma-8 (MTG-08)? How does the quality compare?

cheaper then all three and better then all three i dont see the downside here.

If you can up your budget a tad on the DIY part I'd look into the alchemy 8... nice boost in sensitivity.

Thanks. Would I be able to place the center channel horizontally on either the Karma 8 and/or the Alchemy 8? I was thinking I might be able to with the Karma.
