Pms received guys...we are very close to the 100pc discount mark gentlemen. Last chance on AE group buy today. John has said to run it until midnight tonight, so my final sheet has to be in to him by then, so have your pms to me with all details by 11pm if you still need to order.

PM Sent. Thank you for putting all of this together!

Do we know how close we are to a 100? I could possible get a few more (4) TD12's for my rear speakers if I knew it push us over. I checked his website and it doesn't give a full count.

We are up to 86 at the moment. I will probably be adding a few myslef before the end, and a couple others have stated that they might as well. 14 more is realistic, I think

A late push is needed to get the total up up up! smile.gif

This is a great price on some of the best drivers available. And, by all accounts, these things will be shipping on time starting next week! I wish I had more cash to toss John's way.

I've not been given any indication that we can have dipoles at discount...unless John chimes in otherwise.

If it puts us over the 100 mark by days end, I'd be pretty much sold on ordering about 4 more TD6's. (I just don't know if I'll have the time to research these for my side surround build).

I'll be in flight for most of today so I'll try and check back here as often as I can.

*sigh*

I'd sure like to pick up some TD18's but ... I have no use for them.

And of course I can't get just one. rolleyes.gif

Cool, I am contemplating the same thing, a few of the Td6 and maybe even a couple of the 10s and an 18, just to try stuff out. If we get over 100 I 'll add them in for you.

No use?!?!?!?! There's always some use for them biggrin.gif
I am acutally contemplating an 18 just to try out too, but as you said, what good is one smile.gif

Yyeaaahhh.... I'd get lynched though if I don't wrap up my mega build. Which is actually on time for once and looking at an April installation. smile.gif

But if I dump $700-800 on these..... oh boy. So tempting. biggrin.gif

Friggin layovers. Jake, how far from 100? smile.gif
post #108 of 337
Need immediate help please!! I've been eying the AE and BMS group buys and am seriously thinking about building LCR speakers - so 3 total. I was going to do one of the SEOS 12 builds from the DIY forum. But after reading about these JTR speakers and that there are several people interested in or have already done their own versions of JTR, I'm very interested in the 212. The main reason is that I recall hearing the Klipsch RF7 vs the RF5, RF3 (yeah, it was some years back!) and I'll never forget how much smoother, more natural and effortless the sound was from the RF7's. They were the only model in the series that used a 1.4" compression driver with the appropriate sized (i.e., lareger) horn. All the others used a 1" compression driver.

The BMS deadline is now this coming Monday, correct?

The AE deadline is tonight -- order must be PM'ed by 11 PM! So I gotta make up mu mind quick re: should I be purchasing some AE's tonight? (Don't know if I'll do the dual 12" version or the dual 10" version, btw.)

Does anyone know the costs of the AE 12" and 10" drivers? Or the cost of the BMS 1.4" and the 1" CD's?

Also, any recommendations you'd like to make are welcome as well. Thanks!

BMS deadline is Monday, AE tonight, as you said. It all depends on your goals, I will say that the 1"CDs can perform great though. The AE 10s are $215, $205 if we hit 100. The 12s are $235, $225 if we reach 100.

A single driver and a good 1"cd with the right horn, like any of the seos designs, will sound plenty effortless and great.

The costs of the AE drivers are in the first post. If you would like a BMS price list PM me your email and I'll send it to you. Your deadlines are correct. The way I look at it if you buy the drivers but don't use them you can always resell them and get your money back. You really can't lose money.

I'm planning on doing either an MTM or TMM with 2 TD10X's and the BMS 4594 coax CD.
