Hey Everyone what do you think of this screen? An Elite 150 inches cinewhite with 1.1 gain for 2.35:1 set-up..

I'll be pairing this screen with the Sony VW95es projector (or save some cash and get the panasonic ae8000) will be setup in a 17w 25L 10F ceiling.. I'm calculating dark walls (slate grey) and black ceiling.. controlled lighting.. Any help is appreciated,,

Hello DrZaus...I have this very screen (in a batcave similar dimensions) and I'm running it on a benq w1070 and I had initally ran it on a viewsonic pro8200. Both PJs had 2000 lumens and relatively low contrast ratios 4000:1 and 10000:1, so I'm really sure that either of the PJs you're looking at will work just fine. The viewsonic was 18ft back in my room and the benq is about 16ft back from the screen wall. The screen, is really well made and my movies look great! The only problem I had was hot spotting and I'm currently working with Elite to get it fixed.

Not yet...I'm gonna have to take the screen apart to get the serial number. I will probably tackle that over the weekend. I tried to get them to process my claim without it, but they would not budge. In all honestly I know they will take of it, I just don't feel like I should have to take my screen off the wall and apart in order to get this taken care of.

That is sad on elite's part, to pay top dollar and not send a replacement screen and return your current one.. I guess pictures are not enough... that is crazy to pull it all apart.. I'm almost sure I will probably go with the Carada Criterion.. I can't stand to re-ship this type.. its a pain in the @$$..

Are they "areas" of brightness? Or vertical lines from where the material might have been polished from being rolled up....

Update! New screen material is in route!! And I didnt have to dismantle my screen to give them the serial number.

That is awesome JoeBoy.. they are sending you a new unit or just the fabric.. how hard is to install the fabric on the original screen? this pull of tension look very difficult..

Yes it is DrZaus! I was so glad they changed their minds about the serial number policy. So, they are going to send me some new screen material...I may try and install it myself this time around, it's a fixed frame...so it shouldn't be too hard!

Joeboy that is gret news, I'm glad it worked out for you.. smile.gif Quick question since your batcave is dark.. how is the picture quailty on such a large screen.. I've decided on the Sony HW50ES projector but teh lumnes are low as 1700.. and all these screens are getting me confused.. do you recommend this screen for 2d pic quality with dark walls and carpet?

I know the feeling....so many options. The picture quality is GREAT! My PJ has a lot of calibrated lumens, so the picture is really bright. So, if you planned on a large screen with that PJ...I would ask around on the Sony fourms to see if anyone is running a 120"+ screen with that projector. Maybe even one of the high power screens?

I decided to move up to the Da-Lite HP 166" @ 235:1.. smile.gif
