iRule and the Grafik Eye

Quick question:

Im going to be installing the GE in my basement and would like to control it with my irule remote. Am I limited to just 4 scenes (the 4 that the GE will be programmed to) or am I able to program iRule to lets say 8 scenes? I see Lutron makes an 8 scene remote, Im hoping I do not have to purchase one of these Lutron remotes to program my iRule to 8 scenes.
I guess what Im asking is how do I program my Irule to control scenes on my GE.

Im sure this has been discussed before but I was not able to find a definitive thread that answered my question. Thank you for your time and help.

No, you're not limited. The GE has 16 scenes you can program, and with iRule you can just select the IR codes for any of those 16 scenes. The GE's buttons are set to a group of scenes (set to scenes 1-4, don't remember if you can change them to another group). The wallstations can also be set to a different set of scenes (the 5-button models can be set for scenes 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16, plus off).

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I do see that iRule has 16 scene selections available, I guess what I am confused about is how to program the grafik eye to scenes other then 1-4 so that it knows how to react when I hit scene 5 on my iRule.

Thanks,

RJ

All the scene programming is done from the GE panel itself. Select the Scene # then set the level for each zone (dimmer circuit), fade time, etc. See the GE manual page 21:
