Help me finish my setup

Hello all,

I need some advice regarding a center channel speaker. I am installing a 5.1 home theater system in our family room. The room is a new addition to our house. When it was being built, I roughed in 4 Polk Audio rc-85i in-wall speakers for my surrounds. I have a Denon 1613 AVR and an infinity PSW310BK sub, so now it is time to add the last piece. I need a relatively low profile speaker, and If like to keep it under $300 if possible. A couple I've looked at are the Polk Audio TL3, and the Definitive Pro Center 1000. Anyway, given my setup, what would you recommend? Many thanks to you all in advance!

Your front three speakers should timbre match for the best front soundstage. This typically means buying from the same manufacturer and often even the same speaker line for your center. You might contact Polk to see which of their center channels in their other speaker lines would be the best match

Heya,

Matching line/drivers would give you optimal results. The RC series by Polk doesn't include big standing speakers. Maybe take some RC80i's and mount them in a small speaker box and finish the box to match whatever decor.

Very best,
