So after doing a fair amount of research and reading the manuals etc. I bought a Rx-573. My hope was to have my theater on SPK A and my outdoor speakers on B. This is all setup and working great with the exception of one thing. The Yamaha AV Controller app can't control the speaker zones. Best I can tell the only way to this is through the front panel and/or IR remote.
When I initially looked at the AV controller software, it shows zone control, but it is not shown on my app. I am thinking zone control is only for the 673 and higher? I'd really like to just use an app to turn the outdoor speakers on. I don't have any need to being using both at once with different programming.
My options seem to be
- Try a 673 and move this receiver elsewhere
- Use a separate dedicated airplay compatible receiver for the outdoor speakers
- find an app controlled IR blaster to change the A/B setting
