Hire a professional to do it ... he will have better gear than you would likely want to buy. Cost might be similar to above option or a bit more.

Learn how to do it yourself ... and buy the hardware and software to do it. Leapfrog the time investment by paying for video training which is available. Cost might be similar to the hiring a pro option ... but you end up with knowledge and hardware and software to do again and again on other tvs at no further cost.

Final cheap cheap solution .. get a test disc ... (from free to $30 or so ... follow the instructions)

Just remember that when you buy a hammer, the hammer does not teach you how to build a house and expecting that is unrealistic.

The software and the hardware figure into the calibration process, but they are not needed every step of the way and they won't exactly lead you by the hand for the stuff that doesn't involve it.

Hardware ... cheap as $100 and expensive as $30000+ (Most enthusiasts get a meter in the $300 range and some get this $400 one that has better accuracy, but is slower ...)

Always a price trade-off. No point buying equipment which is worth near/equal or more than your display unless you plan on upgrading to bigger and better every few years!

Perhaps download a free config disc and start from there
