Samsung PN58C500 problems and no warranty.

I have a 2010 Samsung PN58C500 that has developed purple lines during light colored screens. I have read here that this is a wide spread problem. I contacted Samsung and they advised me that I have no warranty and the repair shop would contact me. Needless to say that a panel replacement is out of the scenario as I can get a new tv for the same price. I have had this tv a little over two years. I see that several people got them repaired even though they were out of warranty. Can anyone give me some tips or let me know anything I can do to get this fixed?

I would directly contact those several people who got out-of-warranty repairs and find out exactly who they talked to or emailed within Samsung to get their TV repaired after their warranty expired. This is not something that Samsung normally does so you'll have to escalate it to the right people within the organization.

Hey bro I had the same exact model same exact problem and same exact time frame. I replaced mine with a Panasonic 60UT50 and will never look back to Samsung again. Hope it works out for you?

This is very common with C series Samsung panels. It will get worse over time and a panel replacement is the only fix (not worth it IMHO).

Yea that's what I have been reading. I couldn't justify the cost so I picked up a 60GT50 smile.gif
