Photo playback performance (Dune Smart or Popcorn Hour A-400)?

Which one of these players is better for photo playback in terms of raw performance (without using 3rd party jukeboxes).
I was unable to find any reviews providing details on their photo playback performance.

Do they cache/preload next/previous photos to speedup playback?

Could someone please post their impressions, reviews or links demoing photo playback performance.

When browsing photos (JPGs 4-7MB size) on my Netgear NTV550 it probably takes at least 4-5 seconds to move from one photo to the next (manually, not using slideshow).

I realize that audio/video media playback is the top priority but still, it would be nice to have a good photo player.

Thanks!

None of the usual suspects are particularly good at handling photos.

If you want decent photo browsing then the Pivos XIOS DS and it's XBMC only firmware is the way to go, XBMC can switch between photos in 1-3 seconds for those file sizes and caches thumbnails. The catch is XBMC on the XIOS DS is still beta software and photos are still a weak point being unstable but it will get better eventually.

Sounds like there is no perfect player...
I kind of knew about that but was hoping an upgrade to one of those players would improve things in the photo department.
