I use the rp56 via component to the AE-100 and I love it, for me it sucks not a lick :)
That's great for you David...I was only going by what the AE-100 proponent Li On has stated time and time again. I unfortunately have not had the opportunity to view the AE-100, and certainly not next to the 75u. I know of two forum members who have compared both, and both members agree the 75u is a tad better.
Let's be clear. I think both the AE-100 and the 75u are great projectors for entry level HT and will give a big bang for the buck. I'm not knocking the AE-100 at all, as I was very close myself to purchasing one. But with the warranty issues, the recent rash of Power Supply (or some other unknown gremlin), I felt more comfortable in buying the 75u with the 3 year warranty, no dead pixel guarantee (which Kwon at the time was not offering on the AE-100) and panazip. I feel confident that the 75u gives equal, if not a better picture considering less screen door, than the picture of the AE-100, so for me it was the better choice. But please don't think I think anyone who bought the AE-100 made a poor decision. On the contrary :)
