My current set up is – Beyonwiz DP-S1, Acer Aspire Revo HTPC running Win7 and XBMC (And Serviio), all using IceTV (which I love).
Lately the Beyonwiz HDD has been acting up – I am thinking it has either failed or is cloe to failing. So thinking of migrating to a USB Dual TV Stick plugged into the HTPC, recording all TV and watching it back via XBMC (or whatever).
Are there any inconsistencies/incompatibilities that are likely to be a problem? Any other red flags? The advantages I see from the move KaiserBass:
- one fewer boxes to run and house
- tv recorded in a universal format (avi/mpeg/etc) which is viewable from XBMC or through Serviio/DLNA (beyonwiz records in a proprietary format).
I have learnt that IceTV works well with Win MC, which I can use with the Kaiser Baas, instead of the total media software they supply.
The alternative to the Kaiser Baas is the Hauppauge Novo-TD USB Dual Digital - how does this compare to the Kaiser Baas - are they pretty much the same?
Any recommendations or thoughts welcome.
One more thing – all of the above controlled by a logitech harmony 600 – are the above both compatible with the Logitech or will I need to use the provided remote with each?
