You would understand that if you went with the 212's.
Haha, totally kidding of course, the 228's sound amazing in 2 channel.
Did you get a chance to try movie clips with the new center? Thoughts compared to the eD center with movies?
Excellent carp! Exactly what I needed to hear from a bloke who clearly loves his music!
This isn't specifically directed to you carp, but anyone who heard the Noesis 228HT's: The opposite of above I guess - any impressions on how well/wide they would hold a phantom centre channel image when downmixed from native multichannel (DD & dts 5.1) content, particularly music? Has anyone tried a phantom centre with the Noesis? [By way of background: I quite enjoy the odd BD movie, and find stereo+subs magic at times... but nothing "does it" for me like a well recorded concert BR/DVD played at an "appropriate" volume.]
A phantom centre is what I'd have to run with in the medium term, not ideal I know. The 228's would be in a living room system, perched on the extreme outer edges of a 6.2ft long entertainment unit, flanking a 52" display (I need figure out how to post pics one of these days). With a horizontal centre, there'd be less than a foot between the cabinets. Probably a great wall of pumelling audio, but: 1. I can't stump for three at once right now; 2. Possibly overkill in a relatively small living room; and 3. Would have -10 WAF (I think I'm subzero with a pair).Edited by GIEGAR - 3/15/13 at 4:33am
