question of statements front baffle thickness

Thread Starter
I am using 3/4 inch red oak plywood for my statements center build
the front baffle lists using 3/4 and 1/2 glued together
can i use only one sheet of 3/4 or 2 sheets of 3/4 as I have no 1/2 inch
I am going to stain no paint or veneer so I do not want to use another material
If I have to use half inch I will hide it inside the the box having only I sheet showing
why is the baffle to be 1 1/4 inch what effect does this have would 1 1/2 inch be ok or better?

Might interfere with the drivers so route out a recess or create a larger bevel/chamfer.

Can't hurt to go with 2 layers of 3/4" birch, just be sure to route out the holes for the drivers in a way that lets the drivers have some breathing room.
