Single Xbox Wireless Controller for both Xbox AND HTPC?

I have a single Xbox wireless receiver and I am planning on getting a Xbox Wireless receiver for the HTPC. I wanted to know if I can switch between the Xbox and HTPC receiver with minimum effort.

Would it involve only synchronizing the controller and the intended receiver every single time or is there some trick to avoid that as well?

Or would I need to get another controller?
