Purchase the Panasonic 900MK or Wait for V720

I am looking to purchase my first HD camcorder mainly for capturing family events and the kids as they grow. I am an avid photographer but never got into video but feel it can be a good means to complement still photography. It looks like Panasonic has been doing a good job lately with their HD camcorders and the 2013 models are about to ship. Based on my budget and what improvements have been made with the new models would I be better off buying the 2012 900MK which can be purchased for $699 or wait for the release of the V720. The X920 would be out of my price range. I welcome any opinions or thoughts you all might have.

I would buy the 900K. That price makes it a bargain. You won't be getting the 720 at any discount for months.

Hi Cuprous - I agree with Bill S., as usual. I bought the TM900 on closeout at the end of 2011, just as the X900 was introduced, and I am very glad I did.

I recommend you buy the X900 now - before they run low on stock and the price shoots back up (take a look at today's new TM900 price!)
