No audio over HDMI on the 1609.

The 588 doesn't have HDMI at all.

They basically have the same power as the 1612 or 1613 so you might as well get one of them. Still dont think those entry level Denon's are good at 4 ohm loads.

im not trying to be cheap trust me if i had the funds i'd be all over something with a great spec sheet however im constricted. so you think i should just get that 80 dollar avr and run components? my only concern is the way my tv is mounted its a pain to get to the component cables, thus why hdmi makes my life that much more simple but considering this a "bandaid" of sorts for a years time. what do you suggest of the AVRS metioned, which should i buy?

1 and 2 do not have preouts to add an amp if you need one. $225 is way too much to pay for the Denon 588.

5 will have the most power

What video sources do you have? Cable/Sat box? DVD? Blu Ray?

Are they both HDMI? What type of audio connections does the PC have?

If this is just a temporary solution you may be fine with the Denon 3802. I know the cable box has optical and digital coax audio outputs if its an HD box. Don't know about your PC, you'll have to provide that info.

since you only have 2 devices you could probably connect those directly to your TV for video.

This is not my opinion, but some people think that driving 4 ohm speakers is no big deal, because ordinary receivers have no problem doing it, even though they may not be rated for 4 ohm operation.
