$500 difference worth it for Rythmik FV15HP?

I've narrowed my choices down to the Rythmik FV15HP and the HSU VTF-15H, I'm located in TX so I have to pay sales tax on the Rythmik and I would get their XLR option. The overall difference in price is $500 more for the Rythmik, is it worth it or should I go with the HSU? I've read all the reviews and like both subs but would like some input regarding the $500 difference. My living room is over 5,000 cu ft and open layout so I need to make sure I've got the bass covered for HT use.

Thanks.

My room is a little larger and I had to make a similar decision. My first thought was the HSU VTF-15H, but as I did research, looked over GTG threads, and asked questions I ended up purchasing the FV15HP. I knew I wanted one unit (at least for a while), so that helped make my decision. I have had it for just 5 days - it brought my system alive and the sound is better than I hoped for. I am happy with my decision and once it is properly placed and dialed in, it should perform even better.

You may want to call and see if there are any b-stock units available and/or get the 550 watt amp (not sure about XLR option on that) to close the gap.

Thanks Lenny, you confirm exactly what I was thinking - I may pull the trigger even at the price difference. At least freight from Rythmik is cheaper than from HSU (I'm in Houston). I'd like to hear if anybody else has a different opinion...

I have a 2000 ft3 room but was torn on the same decision. I had a Hsu vtf3mk2 that was ok but I was concerned that I might just get more output with little extra depth and sound quality if I went with the bigger Hsu so I finally decided on the FV15HP, with the 600W amp just because I didn;t like the idea of getting a lesser amp even though it was for an easy room. The frequency response is smoother, the sound is way better and the output exceeds what I need, I'm very glad I went with the Rythmik. I posted some impressions in the rythmik forum if you're interested, a page or two back from where it's at now.

My room size (listening area is smaller) is appox. 4K 3. I have the FV15, not the HP version and my sub does a wonderful job. The HP will rock your world!

If you want avoiding paying tax, call Ascent Acoustic in California and order from them. It still will be shipped from Austin. I am in Dallas and did that to save more than $100 in tax. Or you can drive to Austin to listen to it yourself. Make sure you bring your wallet with you cuz you gonna pick one up saving shipping cost but you have to pay tax. I came from Hsu vtf2.3 and liked that sub. I wanted to upgrade to the vtf15h but like others after reading reviews and GTGs, I pulled the trigger on the FV15hp (550w) which save a hundred buck sacrifying 0.5db in output. I think I paid about $1300 shipped. I love the sub, I won't be upgrade for a while.
