are these 2013 a breakthrough? i read an article and they claim to be 300% gpu faster which would make the 2012 series crippled and absolutely obsolete.

LGs 2013 Smart TV features have been upgraded with a 120% faster CPU and 300% faster GPU, speeding up the apps and graphical interface. LG also say that the Smart TV experience and been much improved. They have also added speech recognition support and a new Magic Remote.

not sure the starting price of the 7400 but am thinking $1400?

I was originally thinking of getting the lg 47LM7600 but its new predecessor is the LA7400. Could it be that much better then it?? would the 300% faster GPU eliminate all the blurring/artifacts the 7600 suffered from when true motion was on?

Four of the 32 inch LED TVs that I've tried over the past two years had a max resolution of 1366. Setting my PC to 1366 over HDMI provided a very satisfactory clarity on the TVs.

These plans were JVC, Visio, and two Westinghouse's.

If you are only going for 1366 resolution and don't care about 1920 resolution, then rest assured knowing that all for TV brands that I've tried support 444 chroma at their native 1366 resolution. Set your PC to 1366 and you will be fine.

what are you taking about? these are 1080p native tv's. not really helpful to my original question.

I am wondering if the LG 47LA9600 will really happen ? rolleyes.gif

Remember last years LM9600 47" inch ? It never hit the stores , only the 55"

I would like to look forward to the LA9600 47" , but I`m not holding my breath. frown.gif

Who knows , maybe it will happen , I hope so.

Pickings are a bit scarce this year for 46 or 47 " LCD / LED - 3D TV`s .

Later smile.gif

I think you should take those numbers LG is claiming with a grain of salt. I'm sure the 2013 TVs will be an improvement over the 2012s but a 120% faster CPU and a 300% faster GPU are most likely the best numbers the new CPU and GPU can put out.

^^^all those numbers are solely related to internet stuff, not picture quallity. With practically every BD player or game machine out there having internet capability, along with Roku boxes and Apple tvs, not to mention folks using HTPCs I fail to see how this makes 2012 models junk.

Then there's the increasing instance of firmware updates related only to internet features crippling expensive tvs--no thanks.

does the new ones eliminate all the blurring/artifacts the 7600 suffers from?

Steve S is correct in stating that the improvements you will most likely see in the 2013 TVs will mainly be related to the Smart features. There are no reviews at this time and LG really hasn't said much. But... that speaks for itself. I think if there were some significant improvement in picture quality LG would have made that known. All that's speculation but I'm waiting simply because I want the latest model.
