Who else received $10 in PSN credit from Sony for free?

My friend just told me he got one. I didn't. Damn.

Maybe this is only limited to US PSN accounts? Has anyone outside of the US received one?

Where do I check my PSN account? Nothing popped up on my Vita, haven't logged in to Ps3 in a few.

It shows up as a message on your PS3. I'm would guess the same message would show up on your Vita if you did receive one.

I got one. I've heard of folks in Canada and Mexico getting one as well. Looks like it's coming from SCEA, so if your account is serviced by SCEA you have a chance. What are the criteria? No bleeping clue and Sony hasn't said anything about it. Wonder if they are going to go and talk about why it was given out at the press conference tonight.

On one hand, I'm super psyched to have gotten it. On the other hand, it's giving me some trepidation about what will be said later tonight. As if Sony is saying "Hey, guys, we're giving you some free money now so that you won't be so pissed off when we go and make our announcement about the PS4 tonight. Hopefully you won't hate as much as you would have if we didn't give this out?"

Bunch of crap. I have Plus, and I buy stuff off the store quite frequently. Loyal customer no more. Xbox for next gen.

I received the credit in my main account, but none of my 6 sub (guest) accounts got, though I've heard of others receiving it in a guest account as well.
I'm US, by the way, a Plus member, and a low spender in the store ($100-$150/yr. est.).

nice I received 10$ credit for all 3 of my diff. accounts on two diff. consoles.

I am a low spender too, just registered my superslim white console last month and only spent 20$ in the month, but also am plus member in two of my 3 accounts.

been a longer member in my main account. spent more close 500$ over 4 year span.

i have been receiving credits monthly from my main and other sub account as well.

I'm hoping this is sarcasm, because if you're jumping off the system with great exclusives for a whole $10, then you're pretty dumb.

Who knows what the criteria was? It could be as random as "everyone online at XX:XX on xx/xx/xxxxx date gets the credit."

I bought 15 items individually tuesday night, and during my 15th download... the email with the credit arrived.

Either it was pure chance that I got it at that time...

Or maybe I triggered some kinda counter.

I didn't get it. So much for rewarding loyal customers, it seems 100% random as to who gets it.

The "loyalty" part of it is what is making me laugh so much. Reading over at the us.playstation.com forums, there are so many hilarious posts from people who are getting so upset over the fact that they didn't get the $10 credit. A good number are trying to hide their anger over the $10 by stating that they are upset that they aren't considered "loyal". When you step back and look at it, it's really quite humorous. Especially since nobody even is trying to think about the fact that the text in this message appears to be the same as that in any other "free credit" giveaway messages that I've ever seen from Sony.

I'd have to dig through the forums here to find the thread regarding the giveaways when the PSN went offline and then came back online a while ago, but I believe that a similar if not exactly the same message went out with those giveaways. Therefore, this appears to be their standard text for any of the giveaways they've given.

The entire "They didn't say I was loyal, so therefore, they're saying I'm not loyal" argument is akin to saying that Sony is calling me a thief because they didn't send me a message telling me that I'm not a thief.

This appears to have been a random giveaway folks, using standard giveaway message text.

It's not hard to understand that people watching others get free things and come to a forum and brag about it, can get upset. No matter how they word it.

Considering how the industry loves to paint pirating as a plague that is destroying it. That's probably not far from the truth.
