Specifically on a HLT5676 (similar models likely apply)
In the service menu I can find a toggle (on/off) for edge enhancement, but it is not obvious which (if any) of the other menu items can be used to adjust the "intensity" of the effect.
On TV's 50" and up, some edge enhancement is desirable, but the effect is way overboard on this set producing unnatural attention getting highlights and bright distracting moire patterns on finely detailed clothing. If I could tune the Edge Enhancement effect down by about 1/2 it'd be more appropriate and contain the distractions. It's not obvious where (or if) there's an adjustment for this in the service menu. The service manual lists, but doesn't explain, many of the menu items.
Anyone happen to know?
