Guys how should I charger the controllers? leave the PS4 on Standby? does it charge them when it's off? thanx.
It will charge while it is in standby but not completely turned off. Some here say that some phone charges will also work but my iPhone charger does not, an iPad charge might.

There is a power save function in the menu and you can toggle some options for what the unit will and will not do in standby. If it is not charging the controller in standby, you may want to check this menu item. Mine was off from the factory unless I inadvertently toggled it off somehow.

My Blackberry charger does the trick.

samendolaro, there is something wonky on your end. My downloads of all those games were surprisingly about the limit of my ISP service. ~25Mbps (3.15 MBps)
Could your ISP be throttling those servers? QUITE plausible. FYI, I went through a 4 month debacle with COX in my area not providing even a 20% of the rated service...easily 5,000 people in my area paying for service they weren't getting because COX needed to install some hardware in my region. Multiple technicians confirmed the Cox upper level engineers were in denial.

Looks like Naughty Dog just made a big hire. Lots of experience with Sci-fi and space...

Some of you might remember her moving over to Microsoft, she was a foundational hire for their Halo team, after having worked at Gearbox and on the NASA Rockwell project.

After 20 years graphics programming, she's jumping over to PS4 at Naughty Dog it seems. Good hire ND.

Apparently she started professional programming using punch cards on ancient FORTRAN machines, and came up with her own 3D engine before 3D engines became a thing. Here's an interview from a few years ago showing how hardcore of a tech-head she is. Great hire for ND.

that seems to be the norm. my ds4 will go from full charge to needing to be charged in I think about 7 hours. Much shorter than my ds3.

I think the LED light must drain the battery much faster than the ds3.

Can't wait to hear about it getting hacked, or what it does with all that data since it's always on. On the game front though, I really miss Forza, and Ryse Son of Rome looks just great even though it runs only at 900p.

A few weeks back in this thread I talked about how MS has a home hub master plan with their pig of a box, but I just have to wonder why they cut so many corners. Off the shelf components and all. It just looks like a cheap gaming PC that's already obsolete. Why MS? Why? The BOX could have had so much potential, but after all of that, it just looks like a corporate mess.

Saying that, I still hope they sell a ton of them to keep up the competition. Again, strong comp brings down prices. Hoping the Steam Box changes the game also.

Ok, I'm done... biggrin.gif

ryse is garbage. It is just eye candy. I have forza 5, I honestly can not see a difference between forza 5 and 4. Only difference I think I see is that forza 5 is lighter and has more lighting effects.

Other than that yea… less tracks, cars etc. I am having a blast with dead rising 3 though, even though it looks like a 360 game.

But I'll take the added functionality of the DS4 over a week's worth of charge any day.

Definitely. The easiest way to solve the problem is a charging dock, that way it's always ready to go.

Naughty Dog has been scooping up talent left and right for years. Maybe they plan to start a team 3... Uncharted, TLoU and a sci-fi project?

I thought that in order to play games off the PS4 from the Vita that you have to be on the same WiFi network, no?

That thing is loud when getting up to speed, but quiets down after. There have been reports from a few of noisier fans though. Digital, quiet as a mouse...

Not for me. I am very sensitive to fan noise however some my impression of loud-ish and yours may be different. I had a PS3 that got very loud (jet engine-loud) that I eventually traded in for a PS3 slim that was super quite even after several hours of intensive gameplay.

My PS4 is generally quiet, but after a few hours of Killzone I notice the fans are running pretty good, and the unit is in a well ventilated area. The fan noise in this state to me is tolerable and I really don't know it until I get within a few feet of it (normally its about 15 feet from me) and I certainly don't notice it while gaming with the volume up and so forth. I only mention it because my unit at least is definitely not as quiet as my PS3 slim. I really don't mind it as long as all units are like this. If it turns out that everyone reports their PS4 as whisper quiet even after intense gaming then there could be something wrong with it I suppose.

I would love to hear from others how loud or quiet their units are, particularly after an hour+ of intense gaming. Please be sure to include information such as how well ventilated your unit is (big difference between inside a cabinet vs out in the open etc).

Nope, you can use the vita on the road. Just needs to be connected to a wifi network

I am using a usb wall charger from an old cell phone for mine and am shutting down the ps4 completely when I am not using it. Irrational maybe but I am paranoid about a power outage or blink while my ps4 is in standby.
I think mine might be a little loud. I only have the free games to play and it's mostly been resogun. But when I pause it after a while of the game running the fan is pretty loud. I just replaced the laser in my ps3 so I can continue using it so I'll move it back into the cubby, where my ps4 is, and give the ps4 a place on top of my av center. Maybe I'll put up a video so we can compare. I have 2 PCs in the same room with 120mm and 140mm fans running in each and they are not as loud as the PS4 when it was running.

well I'm certainly enjoying music unlimited. I may keep it after the 30 day trial. Listening to Ella Fitzgerald and the jazz channel while playing Contrast is fantastic. I've never used anything like this on a gaming system and I really like it. Anyone know how much it is for a year?

Oh man...please let it be true.

The guys on Podcast Beyond have talked multiple times about how Naughty Dog released three Uncharted games and TLoU since The Last Guardian started development.

Naughty Dog is definitely my favorite studio right now.

Is Driveclub still going to be free for PSN Plus members when it gets released?
Naughty Dog had 170 employees when they split into two teams, now they have about 230. They have the people to do a third game now.
