PlayStation 4 - Page 378

Well lets hope they can take advantage of this power, because I think Ryse is the best looking game so far on the generation.  Killzone is great but I think Ryse is better.  Cannot wait for God of War and Uncharted.  Naughty Dog and Santa Monica do wonders.

Killzone pumps out half a million more pixels at roughly double the framerate. Not the best comparison.

I also find it weird why Sony wouldn't come out and confirm their CPU runs at higher clock speeds when Microsoft made a big deal out of their 1.75 Ghz if PS4's really IS faster at 1.8Ghz+ or whatever.

Well the multiplatform trend is starting off very well for PS4 owners. I wouldn't be surprised if MS's OS system takes up more of the available power as well due to Kinect, but perhaps there is a way to make a game on the Xbone that disables Kinect and can tap into more resources, not sure.

10% of the GPU is reserved for Kinect and snap at all times, it can't be disabled. Infinity Ward asked and was shot down. 2 cpu cores are also reserved for the three OS'

The PS4 reserves are unknown, all we have are slides from the reveal that showed a 1.6GHZ CPU and a 2 core reserve, but that was from an incomplete devkit. (First run using 8GB GDDR5)

It also makes me wonder if they upped the GPU from 800mhz as well, 1/2ghz was the base speed of the apu, .8/1.6 was considered the most efficient speed. This would make for an interesting turn of events if true...

I thought they said it was multi-core? If They knew for sure it only used a single core then there would be no questions about it.

I only know from my experiecne so far with both systems, that while the PS4 is certainly more powerful, the XBOne so far gives me a much better experience. Which is partially due to the quicker navigation of the UI on the XBOne. Of course both systems have a ton of issues they need to fix, especially with their audio output. It is annoying on both systems to need to constantly change the audio output because it doesn't match up with the source audio channels like they should.

Well then the large disparity will probably continue.

Then they need to look at their art director because they didn't use those pixels as well in my opinion.  Killzone looks good but ryse overall is my favorite next gen game followed by resogun and killzone.

A dual and a quad core mobile CPU are also featured in the test, and the gap between them is too small for it to be all cores. The test says it is one CPU, doesn't say core or entire chip, but the results lean towards it being per core.

I'll be getting a couple on boxing day at walmart here in Canada.

When I was at BestBuy last night someone was asking about PS4 stock. They said that the stores in the area would have them on Sunday morning(at least I thought they said Sunday and not Saturday) and they would need to get there very early to stand in line. Especially since the BestBuys are open from 7AM until midnight for the next few days. I figure this might be the case at all of the BestBuy locations.

This looks to be the big shipment planned for Sunday, some places are putting them out early.

This is how crazy this is...stop in daily at Best Buy (cause there's one right by my house) and they don't have any PS4s, and can't say when they'll get any in. And then I'm wandering through the mall this evening, walk in to Gamestop on a whim, and they have a bunch. Did Gamestop get the most shipments? Just for S&Gs, I went back into the BB near my house, and had the same spiel...didn't know when they'd be getting any.

Needless to say, I picked up the one at GS (also called up a buddy of mine and he got to the mall an hour later and got his PS4 as well) and also grabbed Lego Marvel, and am looking forward to hooking this bad boy up tomorrow.

Congrats! That is crazy but I bet they are holding them until Sunday.

I have the disc. Odd thing is it happened 2 hours into playing. Then when I pulled the chat cable out of DS4, car controls came back. I thought it was a DS4 power issue as te car seems to e receiving half the commands the DS4 sent, until I found a thread full of people who couldn't make their cars move. In the words of Stephen Colbert, "it's the craziest %#!% think I've ever seen."

I have been having a blast with the game, but I do loathe the 30fps, I feel I get eye fatigue.

Also, Kinetic reserves 3GB of the ram regardless of Kinetic being active or not.

Ps4 is the number 1 seller on amazon and the xbox one is number 20. Holy smokes

to be fair, that may also have to do with how many systems are actually available to purchase..

Hasn't the availability of the Xbone been more frequent than that of the PS4 since launch? That makes the PS4's sales figure even more impressive if true. The PS4 is selling more units even though the supply is less.

Was out shopping for other stuff this morning. My closest Target is out of PS4's, has XB1s available. Checked Best Buy (went there primarily to demo the VT60), same thing. Guy there said they have a huge shipment that might have already come in wink wink nudge nudge but would not sell me one before Sunday. It will be interesting to see if these stores that are stocking up these 'huge' shipments sell out and if so how quickly...
I haven't seen much of the PS4 commercials lately, been mostly the "other" commercials. Especially at Walmart.
Gaf followed the sales in real time on Amazon. (Once a product drops below 999 in stock you can track it with some solid accuracy) The Xbox One came in stock before the PS4 sold out and they tracked it all the way to the PS4 sellout a few minutes ago. Pretty funny that the final PS4 bundle hit zero right when the Xbox One hit 180 left...
