If I go to my order in Amazon, it just shows standard. Or am I looking at it wrong? I want to get one right away.

I'm assuming you're doing it on your phone? It went straight to standard on mine. On a PC though, when I go to the page and click the launch day version, it shows that I ordered it already.

When you go to the order page, click the launch edition button. If you get a yellow bar at the top saying you ordered, you have a launch edition.

Ok, I see where it says I purchased this item on June 10th. Thanks bd, it looks like I will be in on day one.

The launch edition page defaults to the standard edition imediately in every browser I have tried. When you check the product page for something you have ordered it will remind you on the full desktop browser that you already ordered it.

I have the launch edition and it does that to me when I clicked my order history. The launch edition auto shifts to the standard which is why so many are worried.

A little image I found illustrating what's what when it comes to the known future for all platforms game wise.

Figured it would interest come of you who game on multiple machines.

That's a handy breakdown; thanks.

But it lists Dark Sorceror as a PS4 exclusive; wasn't that just a tech demo, rather than an actual game?

I understand they have the cloud and all that jazz, but I guess I just don't see how it could make it so that one day the ps4 is an inferior product to the xbox. Anyone have a take on this? And not just "Xbox sucks and they are idiots", some actual input on the subject.
There's literally nothing to back that claim up, on paper PS4 is superior hardware wise, there's no doubt about that.

Cloud computing has potential to be great in the future, specially in a country like Japan where the internet infrastructure is amazing, however at the moment it has WAY too many obstacles, such as:
- Publishers paying to use those servers, we don't see dedicated servers for online gaming so let alone for this
- Internet reliability issues, internet speed isn't much of a problem like latency, server location will also be a factor, take that 300,000 claim with a grain of salt
- Server load = game experience screwed, imagine millions playing a highly anticipated game at once

..etc

So, it sounds great on paper, but very difficult to implement in reality, don't believe the hype until you see real world performance. Also, if the thing really turned out to be a success, there's nothing stopping Sony from adding cloud support as well.

As for your hesitation regarding getting any of the consoles on launch, I personally never get a console until it's with a game I Really want to play, that also allows me to see if there are any hardware issues with the launch consoles so I'd wait for later revisions.

And now Sony is claiming devs can use the cloud just the same.

http://www.polygon.com/2013/6/12/4424022/sony-shuhei-yoshida-says-ps4-cloud-computing-calculations

The only difference is that Sony doesn't have their own infrastructure to pimp out, at least not yet.

So, Sony will also charge for online gaming, Fluck it, I´m done with consoles, my next move will be with PC.

Bye Xbox, Bye PS4,

anyone know if the ps4 has IR capability for universal remote?
LOL, just when I posted about the cloud computing thing. I believe it's only to give people another reason to go with the PS4 instead of gambling on the cloud hype with Microsoft, tech just has too many obstacles.

Anyway, am I the only one who thought The Dark Sorcerer (not sure if it's a real game) was the most impressive next gen tech demo @E3? Those facial expressions finally felt next gen instead of the robotic stuff we have now, graphic and physics were awesome as well specially when they're claiming it's in real time:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqeuHGESZBA (Full tech demo)

Also, look at the pretty feathers :P. Shadows also looked great, nice and smooth instead of the jaggy mess we see now. It'll be Amazing if in-game stuff matched this or even surpassed it, how awesome would that be!

To see on your phone if you got the launch version simply goto Amazon, login. Select Your Account, Your Orders. Find the Playstation 4 your ordered, select Order Details. Scroll down and it will say "Launch edition"
Like this.

That list has a world of problems. Deep Down, KH3, FF V and Mad Max are not exclusives.

What, everything i find in the internet is not 100 percent accurate, shocker, ha!

Yeah, not that in tune with exclusive wise but it looked OK at first glance. That's what you get assuming I guess wink.gif

I am currently here at E3 and a lot of things are going on. It is exciting to see a new console generation coming up.

At the moment we still did not get a final confirmation whether our Xbox 360 wheels will work on Xbox One natively (USB) or with an adaper or upgrade kit or not at all. Therefore we cannot promise you anything other than that we are trying to find a solution and if MS allows it then we would certainly support any solution which increases the compatibility of your XBox 360 wheels.

You can be sure that we are working to make our wheels compatible with the next gen consoles or develop solutions which will provide compatibility but at this point it is too early to discuss it.

In any case our wheels will work with GT6 and after playing it, I am quite excited about the improvements of the physics.

So what is your opinion?

Xbox One or PS4?

Forza Motorsport 5 or GT6?

Has anything been said about Deep Down since the PS4 reveal?

Anyway, over 20 games on that list that I consider must buys for my eventual PS4, that is insanity...

It was amazing, and hilarious. The full video is definitely worth a watch.

That's as good as I've seen when it comes to real-time graphics. I'm imagining Naughty Dog could achieve something like this on PS4 too.

yea that tech demo was very impressive, best looking footage ive seen coming out of the new consoles yet. Will be really interesting to see what games look like when the devs start to harness the full potential of the new systems

MGS5 for the X1 also looked really good, aside from some shots of the horses, they just looked odd in some of it really odd

Sorry Joe, I didn't really compare to your list but here are the eurogamer lists of confirmed games by console with exclusives broken out.

PS4

XB1

Yeah, I've seen some people b*ching about how there's only 3 exclusives being launched day 1. Watchdogs and BF4 will also be out too, a steady stream of other 3rd party titles.

It's looking like launch should be one of the better for a consoles ever, so not really sure why they're complaining.

Meanwhile, it might be hard to get a PS4, even though supply chains and logistics should be a heck of a lot better this time:

LOS ANGELES—Sony Corp. 6758.TO -2.25% is raising internal sales projections for the forthcoming PlayStation 4 videogame console amid positive signs about demand for the device, executives of the Japanese electronics company said Tuesday.

Andrew House, global head of Sony's PlayStation videogame business, said the company is shifting its internal projections for the product after favorable reactions to the company's presentation Monday at the Electronics Entertainment Expo here this week.

...

Jack Tretton, head of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, said GameStop Corp. GME -3.00% executives had told him the company would buy "every single unit" Sony can manufacture if it could. "We're excited about the momentum," he said.

Mr. House said the enthusiasm, however, could lead to another problem: "Demand may well outstrip supply."

A GameStop spokeswoman confirmed that executives had expressed that sentiment. Amazon representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Quote:
In dueling press conferences this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, Sony and Microsoft each made their pitch to the serious gamers whose opinions set the trend in the $37 billion market for console-based video games and hardware. Then customers were able to start reserving the new console of their choice.

The result has been a rapid shift in expectations for the two machines, with Sony gaining the upper hand with fans and early sales against Microsoft, the console leader for the past two years. The Xbox One will sell for a premium-priced $499 and limit users’ ability to buy, trade and resell games. Sony, once dominant in the industry, came in $100 cheaper and won’t limit transactions, and has been rewarded with a boom in orders.

...

Sony is cashing in with higher-than-expected pre-orders for the PS4 at GameStop Corp. (GME), the biggest video-game retailer, according to Andrew House, president of Sony Network Entertainment. He said the company has delayed a decision on whether to start selling in Asia by year-end in order keep up with demand in the U.S. and Europe.

The PS4 was outselling Xbox One on the U.S. website of online retailer Amazon.com Inc. today, taking the No. 1 spot on the video-games category bestseller list.

I do wonder if retailers are going to push it more. I've heard internet rumblings that GS employees have been just as critical of MS as the hardcore on the internet, and it's not surprising. Then you add in the fact that GS Corporate knows exactly what MS DRM and digital distribution means for them.

Interesting times.

Here's the real question, anyone got a list of games targeted for 1080P/60?

Thanks for the link. I like the fact that it looks like you can use any set of headphones/mic with a 3.5mm plug. I like the ones that came with my iPhone. Now, if we could just get confirmation about IR remote support or not. If I can use my Harmony remote then I'll be able to move my current BD player to another room.

A few people here did I believe, as they should. It sends a good message that MS needs to drop their DRM box, which they'll do if they end up leaving money on the table. Waiting a few months for MS to freak out and reverse course would be great for all gamers. They got good tech, it's just that their policy and hubris are terrible.
