Looks like the first footage of CoD Ghosts running on actual next gen hardware is out, and it is PS4 footage!?

Yay for menu footage. They really have CoD fanboys programmed well if they can get them amped for carrot bait videos like that.

in game stuff tomorrow. Activation has said it's running at 1080P60 on PS4, but i don't expect it to be too impressive after what they've shown in the PC version.

I expect 1080p Call of Duty, which should also have 2-4x msaa, it will probably be the cleanest looking game at launch.

Better not go below 60FPs either. They haven't achieved that since BLOPS2 I believe.

Sonys gearing up their PR with their largest marketing campaign in the companies history apparently. Starting with a Playstation tribute:

Looks like the Dual Shock 4 works on the PS3!!!

Pretty much confirms it's HID compliant. Touch pad might not work, but the rest is golden.

I was just goin to ask today!! That makes me so happy, was considering selling the ps3 even with the backlog because I don't think I will want to go back to DS3.

Good news about the Dualshock 4 working on the PS3 as a standard HID controller. I use playstation 1 and 2 joysticks on my PS3 all the time for fighting games. You can actually get the PS button by holding up on the joystick and select at the same time.

Does this work with other people's controllers too? I'm assuming it does but I'm going thru a USB-PS controller port adapter.

Apart from the possibility of depriving PS4 owners of stock of the DS4, it's a good idea for Sony to implement full backwards support as it lowers the cost of entry to get a PS4. Heck it may even prompt developers too make more local multiplayer games since more people with have more than one controller, oh how I missed local multiplayer this gen.

I really havent been paying much attention but I assumed that Killzone Shadow Fall would be a better looking game than COD since COD is cross platform. I play both but was going to get Killzone first because of the graphics edge. Maybe I'll get both at launch...?

I'm still debating on which FPS to get. I have BF4 preordered but I'm not feeling it yet. KZ looks good but I hated KZ3 but loved KZ2. And COD is always fun to me.

Can someone find on eBay or wherever a cord (not adaptor) for our 360 headsets to DS4? Needs to be standard 2.5mm phone mic male plug to standard 3.5mm phone stereo mic male plug.

I have looked in the past and couldn't find it. I don't want to solder my own, I'm a noob at that.

Lol, some eBay seller is going to wonder why his homemade cables are selling out for no reason mid-November. I like to support the joes making hobby stuff in their garage workshops.

I fully expect Killzone and Battlefield to look better, but it terms of raw image output, I expect Call of Duty to look cleaner, no aliasing, better texture filters, that sort of thing. They have the far less intensive game so throwing more power at post processing is very likely.

I was going to keep mine as a BD player for my spare room, but now it will stay in the AV rack. This is great news since I plan on getting GT6 and that should work great with the DS4.

COD is fun for me simply because there is always a bunch of friends playing it. Killzone's "Warzone" mode from both KZ2 and KZ3 is why the franchise is my favorite shooter. While there is a dedicated group of people still playing KZ3, only 1 of my friends still does on occasion, so if I am inclined to play a shooter I play COD. Thankfully that will change in a month, as I am sick of the auto-aim quick scopers in COD:BO2..... I should give BF another try....

I can't wait for the DS4 to be out so I can pick it up and finally play some of my older ps3 games.
Just remember that the DS4 only works on the PS3 while wired. It does not work wirelessly.

Wouldn't you need a 2.5 mm female (to plug the male piece from the 360 headset) to 3.5 mm male cord (to plug into the DS4)? If so I think this might work.

And I believe there might be some games that don't fully support HID controllers, still its not many.

Honestly don't even remember, but I believe the DS3/DS4 connection is standard miniUSB, so you should be able to head over to monoprice and grab a extra long cable to make wired play a bit less of a problem.

Party chat re-confirmed

I'm really hoping the friends list can grouped or that we can join social groups based around interests and games for quick access to friends.

Edit: Also, cross platform party chat:

I was hoping they would up the limit for the party chat. I haven't seen MS release this info yet either though. 8 isn't going to be enough with the bigger multiplayer limits in games being released.

Agreed, even 360 as it is now isnt enough. But 8 is better than none.

First vid is up.

IGN's crappy flash player seems to compress it quite a bit. But I think I saw some screen tearing around the edges, textures look muddy and there's some alasing (especially on hard lines like wires and such).

Also, it's so gray. I understand the war and location setting, but these war games are so drab and boring in their art direction. Why not make the map around a vibrant middle eastern market with color?

No, the 360 headsets (most) have a dongle that with a mic jack, not a mic plug. So it needs male-to-male cord. Thanks.
I'll look around now that I'm on a computer browser.
