Zone 2 Question

Thread Starter
I apologize to start, as this is probably a very basic question, but I have an Onkyo 809 and was wondering how the Zone 2 works. If I have a main surround system in the family room, can I add a pair of wireless speakers to another room (say the dining room) and play off the Zone 2 so that whatever the source the main system plays also plays through Zone 2? Does that make sense?

I'm looking at the following speakers:

http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Wireless-Surround-Sound/dp/B0049Z89MS

http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Unlimited-Transmitter-SPK-VELO-003/dp/B0036VO2B8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1361161927&sr=8-4&keywords=wireless+speakers+home+theater

Any other recommendations? Any help or advice would be great!

Thanks,

Zach

Only analog external sources (ie. no HDMI or optical/digital coax) and network/internet radio/TUNER sources will play to Zone 2, so in addition to the HDMI cable for the main zone, you'll also need to connect a RCA analog cable for Zone 2. Also, the wireless transmitter would need to be connected to the Zone 2 pre-outs.
