Old ones were in a war torn city, and broken down bayou

The graphics are very close to photorealism, compared to the old games which were very stylish in comparison.

I got to admit, these graphics look nice, just don't know if the Supernatural/SuperHero type genre is right for me.

I guess I should really give Infamous a try (got it free from the PSN outage) but it always falls towards the bottom of my backlist, destined to never be played. wink.gif

Think GTA + super heroes (kinda). It's worth a play and isn't a bad game genre.

For me anyways. Amazon.com just updated my pre-order delivery to April 1, 2014, changed from the Dec. 31 placeholder. C'mon April hurry up!

Previous estimated arrival date: April 01, 2014
New estimated arrival date: March 21, 2014

Weird. Back to what it was supposed to be so that's a good thing.

Previous date April 1? I think Amazon just trolled me wink.gif

I wanted to wait to pick a PS4 but I loved the Infamous games on PS3.... might grab this up if they bundle it with a PS4 smile.gif

I never played any of these games (got into the PS3 too late I guess), does anyone know if I should give the first to a play through before I play this.

It takes place 8 years after the "Good" ending of the second game. Both are worth playing through.

I think the first 2 were some of the better sandbox open word games of last gen, and they're pretty cheap to pick up now.

If your are asking if you need to play them to understand second son, Its looking like a independent story set in the same universe (differnt lead characters)

Thanks gents...maybe I will just wait to see if they ever pop up as free PS+ games or grad them on the cheap from GS or BB.
IMO the second one is a lot better than the first..

They were on Plus some time ago.

yup, I have inFamous 2 just sitting on my HDD. I played about 10 minutes of it so far. Visuals are definitely better than the first (based on the demo of the first.

There is a twin pack that can be found for cheap. It should be visible on this page's tags.

I have a new copy of the twin pack. Still sealed of course. PM me if you want a killer deal.

VG247 has more details on the morality system:
Quote:
He explained that the branching narrative paths will result in a tailored personal experience forged by the individual. “The choices you make along the way will not only impact Delsin’s story, but also the way that his powers mature and evolve, and the way other characters around you evolve and change. It’s very, very different. You’ve got to play the game twice to see it all.”

Once you make your decision the game will let you know through various methods if your choice rested on the good or evil side of the moral fence, but again, just how this will impact your progress and the world state down the line won’t be immediately clear. That feeling of not knowing exactly what you’ve just done, and suspecting that something ugly or perhaps even righteous is about to happen out of nowhere will drive players on.

“We try and make it pretty clear when you’ve done something evil,” he added, “mainly because it really sucks when it’s nebulous. It’s not fun to feel like, ‘Well I think I did the right thing in that videogame,’ because there’s so much you have to understand about the rules of the world, your abilities, what the mission is asking you and all of that stuff. We try to cut down on ambiguity as much as possible, but at the same time we try to put situations in front of the player that are frankly tough, because that’s what games are good for; they can transport you to places you’ve never been and let you do things you’ve never done before.”

About time to go on an information blackout, see everyone once I beat it.
Not that this game needs it, but any news on if there is a multiplayer/online component? I was surprised Assassins Creeds multiplayer was so good, so maybe sucker punch has a surprise for us.
Apparantly there will be no multiplayer, which to my surprise a lot of people are relieved. I guess the theory was that multiplayer would waste valuable time in making the campaign the best that it could be.

It looks like another PS4 game is confirmed to be running at 1080P. So far, I think Battlefield is the only game that didn't make it to 1080P.

We challenged our team to create all the painstaking details of the atmosphere, architecture, and weather of Seattle, an open world complete with traffic, Seattle denizens wearing real, 3D-scanned clothing, expansive vistas, and destructible environments that are interactive with your powers. It’s also running at true 1080p.
The tech looks really good for the game. If it ends up being a highly destructible world that can be a ton of fun. I hope it isn't just limited to a small set of structures.
Multiplayer might have balance issues. If the game favors different power types then you could have a lot of balance problems. It would be interesting to see how MP could be implemented in an open-world super power game. Personally I am glad they are focused on the SP (heh, single-player or Sucker Punch) as the previous two entries are great.
I wouldn't want MP in this game, but some coop could be fun. Just crank up the difficulty and let you have two super heroes running around. It would totally break the narrative, but could be a blast.
Too many games think they need MP only to waste resources on stuff MP that isn’t done well, and that no one really every plays. Cough, GoD:A, cough.

I could get behind some COOP. If they did do MP it have to be both something different and really though out well. TLOU surprised me in that regard (but also why a good number wrote it off).

60 or 30fps?
This game? I'm gonna predict 30 locked.

Open world games tend to be beasts to render, even 1st party ones on consoles. If the IQ is like we've been seeing in vids/pics, it won't be 60.
