BK Gemini or Wharfedale Powercube SPC 10?

Hi everyone,

Quick question. I've done a lot of reading about Subs and I get the consensus that everyone would recommend the BK Gemini 2 (if not one of its big brothers) for a sub. I'm interested in it, but much prefer the looks of the Wharfedale Powercube 10, the Walnut finish would look great with my BX5 and BX2s (don't like the Gemini walnut finish).

I suppose my real issue is that there are no real reviews about the Wharfedale's on the forums, so its difficult to compare! Has anyone had experience of both? The BK subwoofers have obviously gone mad on the forums, but it doesn't necessarily mean other subs aren't good - they just aren't being talked about. What HiFi (for what it's worth) gave the Wharfedale Powercube SPC 10 a 5* rating and the BK Gemini 2 a 4*. They obviously do it for a living and test some ridiculously expensive systems too, so feel they should know the best attributes of a subwoofer.

If anyone has experience of the two I'd be interested in hearing about it. I mostly use my set up for music, although do watch films with it. I live above someone and don't want a booming bass to annoy them either, more something to compliment my music. The room is medium sized.

Any help much appreciated!

If you can get products from SVS where you live, the SVS SB-1000 at $499 plus shipping ,or the SB-12 NSD at $649 plus shipping are both excellent performers. smile.gif
