Klipsch RF 42 II Vs Klipsch Synergy F-2

I already own a pair of Klipsch Synergy F-2's and just purchased a pair of Klipsch 42 RF's at a decent price. Which speakers should I be using as my fronts and which for my rears? Currently using a Velodyne 4000 SLR sub as well.

thanks!

What is your center speaker? Ideally you want to have the fronts and center timbre-matched. So if your center is matched to the F-2's as in an existing setup, keep them as the fronts.

I don't currently have a center, that will be my next purchase. Should I be looking at a rc 42 then?

If your using the RF42's for fronts then yes get the RC42.

The RF is a higher end product line than the Synergy but you got the small towers with only 4.5" woofers. It doesn't play nearly as low as the Synergy F-2 which has dual 6.5" woofers.

I would try both as fronts and then decide which ones would I like better, then buy the corresponding center. If you're not going to add a subwoofer, the larger F-2 would be better as fronts since they play quite a bit deeper.

+1

At least get a budget sub and put the RF-42's at the front. You can order the Klipsch RW-12d for real cheap from newegg this weekend. Then set your 42's as small and cross the sub at 80Hz.
