Nvidia 314.07 install lost HDMI output, hopefully this will help someone else

Thread Starter
Well title says it all I have a 680 series card, and all was well, until I upgraded to 314.07 from 310.90, at which point HDMI output disappeared, as if it is not even connected. Tried backing out, and restoring a previous configuration, failed. Tried reinstalling older driver, failed, tried reinstalling new driver failed. Now I'm back to attempting to restore a backup. I really hate Nvidia right now. Not sure if I'm just very unlucky or what, but really ruined my night. Tried a few hard boots, removing replacing cable ... the normal things, just does not accept HDMI was connected post update, but the DVI connection was fine.

Hope this warns you away from this update until other can give it a try,
ERIC

I didn't bother with this driver because it was mainly for gaming with higher level processors than the GT 430 I use.

I have been seeking help with a similar situation across many different forums and through NVIDIA but haven't found a solution. I have noticed when doing a search for "playback device not plugged in" I get many results that are nvidia related.

In my situation I have HDMI Audio until I add a 2nd non HDMI display. When I add the display windows sound playback devices show the AVR as "not plugged in"

I have updated firmware for both the receiver and the video card with no luck. NVidia has asked me to contact Pioneer . . . Still waiting on them

Any other threads on this forum regarding this issue?
