So I have this working all peachy now. I get Framepacked 3D with HD audio output.
Stereoscopic player accepts startup parameters. So here's how to do it with an AMD card.- Each movie should be in it's own folder.
- Rename the folders with your so they end with [3D]
- In Mediabrowser Configurator under External Players add:
- Player Type: Generic
- Player Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stereoscopic Player\StereoPlayer.exe
- Arguments: {0} -ol:AMDHD -fss -termend
- -ol:AMDHD: - use AMDHD for the output, you'll want to change this as appropriate
- -fss: full screen
- -termend: end when file ends
- Supported Media Types: mkv
- Supported Video Formats: Digital3D, SBS3D
- This will let you use Stereoscopic Player for 3D only, and any other player for 2D video.
The only drawback I found was there's no way to close Stereoscopic Player if you stop the video before it ends, so I added an EventGhost macro to close the player when I press the stop button on my MCE Remote. Attached are screenshots of my macro:
Options for the Stereoscopic Player Window:
The Eventghost Macro:
Yes - I know that Stereoscopic player isn't free, but it does a fantastic job with playback, and....
- There isn't any free 3D playback software available.
- TMT, PowerDVD, WinDVD etc... are all Cinavia enabled
- DVDFab doesn't do 3D.
This is the only option I've found that works this well for your 3D rips. The developer of Stereoscopic player has been very responsive to my questions, so I'm happy to pay him so we can enjoy our movies the way we want to. Personally I think $50.00 US is a small price to pay to get all my movies into one media interface.
