Do it. I can't wait to hear about it.

What resolution is your monitor(s) running, and how many? This card seems to be aimed at higher resolutions and multi-monitors, not my single 1080p LCD TV.

That kind of pricing on a video card is way out side my "worth it" bubble.

A single 680 would be the max amount of money I'd be willing to pay for something of this nature.

I've never spent more than $400 on a video card in the past.

I've got 2 EVGA ones coming, not that there is any difference between the brands lol. I've already sold my 680's and am running 1 x 580 I still have until the Titans get here.

I know lots of guys think they are to expensive and of course they are BUT I'm fine with that, they are not for everyone, they most certainly are not bang form the buck cards LOL I would have kept my 690's but the quad sli was just not good, I always had problems with severe micro stuttering. Heck when I bought my 7800 GTX, I paid $751 for that card at the time! I game at 2560 x 1600 and can use the extra vram.

I don't have any with the 680's in there but it loos like this (minus one 580)

Maybe SLi'd will be enough to run Crysis 3 max.

According to techpowerup the stock fan is 38db under load. Not horrible.

I guess that pretty much confirms what people have been saying about 3 way SLI on these. I'll admit I though about it but glad I didn't. I can use the 1K in the HT instead lol
SLI is gonna be mighty sweet!!!!! So far my 580's have been wonderful cards and will be given away to my nephew for the rig I build him with all my old sandy stuff. He's 13 and really getting into PC gaming. All of his friends run on dell all in 1's and he's got a full fledged gaming rig lol

I'm sure this is a really dumb question, but why go with Nvidia for the forseeable future when both consoles are going AMD ? What I mean is, if all the developers out there are doing their best to get their engines to perform good on this new AMD architecture, you'd think that maybe those eventual PC releases will also run better on AMD video cards in PC's. Right ?

I mean, I have an Nvidia 560 Ti from a couple of years ago, and it works great, and I've always heard that Nvidia has the superior drivers, and that there are many games that just seem to run better on Nvidia based hardware, but with BOTH consoles switching to AMD, won't this scenario flip flop and be exactly the opposite ? I mostly talking about playing games in 2014 and 2015. Most of you guys will probably just upgrade to new cards anyways, but for those of us that try to get a video card that can last us two years, it would seem that maybe we should look more to the AMD cards ?

Even the new gen consoles won't tax new pc hardware to the max. Whether it's Nvidia or AMD, the ports that will happen will run fine on both.

I haven't used nvidia since 7800. I get along just fine.

I got excited for the Titan until I started looking at the bench's......what I don't get is why you'd scrap two 690's for two Titans.....there is a lot of horsepower there, but is it going to be used by games?

I thought microstuttering went away with adaptive vsync.

2 x 690's do not scale well in games or in any situation, quad SLI is not very good. 2 x Titans will outperform 2 x 690's because they scale much better. the 690's only having 2 gig vram is a limitation that will be something that I don't want to run into. People seem to forget that the OC ability of the titans is very good, A reviewer friend of mine was saying to expect about a 15-20% OC on air and around 30% on water. Taking into that, current first gen drivers and the amount of vram vs the 690's? I'm happy to pay for 2. Do I need that my HP? no but who cares, I won't have to buy a card for years!

Edit: Microstuttering is most definitely still a problem and SLI'd titans have pretty much none. 690's on the other hand.... .

I think it would be easier to swallow the price, if the Titan were using a chip that was designed from the ground up, instead of a sub par/rejected chip from the Tesla K20X.

Linus Tech tips recently released a video showing that two 660Ti GPUs were comparible to the Titan at almost half of the price.

Of course the argument for using a single Titan versus the headaches/compatibility of SLI setups is very valid

Nvidia to me seems to be sketchy, now that they seem to be shifting focus to phones and cars.

The titan is for very high res or multi monitor gaming. Although Linus had the 660's doing well in his 3D tests, if you just do a bit of looking around, you'll see that at resolutions higher than 1080p, the titans quickly starts to pull away. With the OC results that guys are getting, they are pretty much blow for blow with a 690. That being said, with the same oc's, the Titans are moping the floor with the 690's in sli vs quad sli of the 690's. Once a more mature driver come out, we'll start seeing more performance. Still even at 80% of a 690, pretty damn good for a single GPU. Mine are shipping out tomorrow!

I wouldn't hold my breath while waiting for that driver.

Out of all the years that I have read the Nvidia forums , the last 6 months have been the worst for reported problems.

I surmise that some of their programmers have either left or been repurposed and the remaining are either incompetent or overworked.

Nice. The Titans should have you covered for a long while. That is unless the inevitable onslaught of poorly optimized games will have you lamenting over turning down a setting or two that hardly make a visual difference.
