lose picture on tv when turning up volume onb receiver

I recently bought the yamaha rx-v373. we have the blue ray player, direct tv all running thru the yamaha with hdmi cables and then one cable from the reciever to the tv. all is working good however when watching a movie when adjusting the volume on the receiver we lose the picture on the tv momentarily and then it comes back. We do not have this issue while watching regular tv and need to adjust the volume.......can anyone helpme with this?
