Are 4,5,6 year & older BD players still receiving firmware updates?

Minus PS3 & oppo players, are older BD players still getting firmware updates?

I can speak for Sony (since I own 3 different Sony model players) - and the answer is YES!
It's the firmware updates on newer players I'd be wary of as they might include things a customer doesn't really want (such as limiting capabilities a customer values or infecting the machine with cinavia).
I should note that these players have played everything thrown at them without requiring a firmware update.

How did you win 3 players?

I've found that most f/w updates stop after about 2 years.

Yes. I have 2 Pioneer players (09FD and 23FD) that still receive firmware updates although they haven't released a new version recently. That being said, I haven't needed an update either. I haven't had an issue playing a BD in a long time.
