My Audio processor is a Theta CB3 HDMI + Extreme Dacs. I have Theta Dreadnaught II's and Citadel 1.5 monoblocks. I also have one of TA's Ultra-Subwoofer's and also a propretary sub system mainly designed to elimate room nodes and nulls. It runs in reverse polarity to my main subwoofers.

Regarding the old HTPC yes I could upgrade the video card but I think it's time I upgraded. I really want to lose the Grandia case and move into a 4U rackmount of some types. I'm having trouble finding a good rack mount case and would appreciate advice. Most seem server oriented. Don't people rack mount HTPC's like the rest of the audio and video gear ?

Isn't it more user friendly to game at a computer desk? I guess it depends on controllers, I still prefer mouse and keyboard to xbox style controller.

I much prefer an xbox\ps controller. I am not at all a hardcore gamer and prefer whatever is more comfortable. Emulators are another positive to the way I set it up. smile.gif

From what he has said so far I'm assuming this is a room facing rack so he wants something with a nice aluminum front on it. I've never seen a normal 4u chassis that would look even decent in this environment.

You might want to check out www.dvnation.com to see how they configure their Ramrod storage system, and how they put 64G of ram to work.

Does garbage collection work on a ssd raid currently?

Why all the GPU multiple horsepower? Running a 4K projector and gaming on it?? What other tasks will the htpc be doing? Rendering?

How much rack space do you have? You could split the drives to a second case, each with their own power supply. Two Ebay 121060721807 and two
power supplies would be cost effective, if somewhat rack space hungry.

Water cooling saves me money too. My desktop has a 3930K with a moderate overclock to 4.2 Ghz, cooled by a Corsair H100. I appreciate the quietness,
and how a $440 Craigslist cpu, plus a $90 water cooler (on sale) puts me into 3970X performance territory. The computer runs a 240G ssd boot/program drive
and a single 2TB green drive and is very snappy.

Yes garbage collection works on SSD. Most good SSD like OCZ or Samsung have their own version that does it without needing TRIM.
