DIY in wall sub - tie into studs, or isolate?

Thread Starter
I am in the middle of a basement finishing project.

I have 2 12's in a ported box that I want to recess into a wall in a bump out in the foundation of my basement.

The box was built so that both the woofers and the port are on the front of the box, near the bottom. I intend to build a grill for it, to appear to be an in wall speaker.

Question - I have the option to tapcon the enclosure to just the basement floor. I also have the option to screw it into the studs next to it.

Should I isolate it from the wall, or tie it into the wall?

Thanks boys,

Mark in Canada

I would keep it isolated.
