MLB 13: The Show

Just one more week until the best baseball game comes out. I am looking forward to checking this out. Does anyone know if they will be having online co-op on it and how it works? One of my buddies finally picked up a PS3 and wants to play some Show.

Will this be available over PSN? I love this game but I can't play any games on disc with my ps3 so I haven't played in a couple years.

That's a good question. They have been pushing day one downloads a little more recently, so maybe it will be.

I don't have the link handy right now, but I do believe that Sony came out with information about upcoming titles being made available on the PSN, and for their March 5th list, MLB The Show '13 was listed. So it does look like it will be available for download on Day 1.

Now I will just have to try to do some digging tonight about the co-op stuff. Either way, I am ready for this game.

It is. I was available for pre-order in the Playstation store last night. $59.99. PSN is giving you $10 back for every $50 you spend.

Thanks. I'll have to pick it up Tuesday. I love that game even though I never get any better.

I can't find a definitive answer on online coop for 13. Does anyone know if it will be in the game?

Does anyone know if they will let you turn the announcers back on in Road to the Show? I think I will get bored of just listening to the crowd noise and base coaches after awhile.

I finally got answers on another site, and the co-op sounds like it will be great. If anyone wants a co-op partner, just send me a friend request and let me know it's for The Show. I have a headset.

Skipping this years version which will be the first time during the PS3 generation and will wait for The Show 14 on PS4.

Why are you skipping it, if you don't mind me asking?

I've honestly felt the last 3 years Sony San Diego has gotten lazy with Road To The Show. Which is the mode I play the most.

For years they should have given us the ability to transfer our created RTTS players from past versions of the game to newer versions and continue on with our careers in newer yearly versions on the games.

Improvements I've been wanting to see are stuff like when you create a pitcher and specifically as a closer they should have made animations where you get the bullpen call, start to warm up in the bullpen, then show you walk or run onto the field.

Free agency also needs to be more realistic, also with arbitration and other stuff.

Heads up for some of you guys getting the game:

Pretty nice deal:

I'm in the process of downloading it right now. I used to go and buy the disc copies each year, but the trade in value on them quickly drops to nothing, or they can't be traded in at all. So I just wind up having the physical discs lying around taking up space. (Still trying to get rid of MLB11 and MLB12 The Show versions). Since sports games are things that are always released every year, there really isn't a huge market for trade in and used sales. So it made sense to me to go ahead and download a digital copy as it just takes up less space for me.

I started the download (24.7 GB I believe, split into a 4.7 MB Online Pass file, an 11.xx GB Additional Content file, and the 12.xx GB Main Game file) at about 12:15 this morning. The online pass and the Additional Content files are downloaded, and I'm at 14% on the Main Game file. Getting around 2 MB/s download speed.

I bought last year's version at Christmas from Amazon. I still haven't played it. My backlog needs to be caught up before the PS4, so this one gets a skip. Not a knock on the game whatsoever.

It's cool, I just wondered why people are skipping it. I plan to pick up the game at lunch today and will play it until my copy of tomb raider gets here.

I played a few games last night and even played a coop game with a friend. So far, I am liking it. It is still difficult at first, but I started getting better as the night went on.

I played a lot of road to the show games today and I'm not really digging it. I really hate the lack of announcers. It makes it so boring.

been playing since 2007 version gets easier more your use to the way it plays. really like the road to show sim feature showing you whos batting and whats happening like watching live on your computer or in a real game simulation.

I played a bunch last night and some this morning before work. I have gotten the hang of it, and an now hitting .435 with 6 HR's and 25 RBI's, and it is still the first month of my career. I still wish they had commentators in the career mode, it does get rather boring listening to the crowd noise, but oh well.

i noticed they dont talk as much wish suites me fine they get annoying after a while, only hear them during the introductions.

Yeah, it's pretty gnarly. The game is rougher around the edges than I remember.

On the last game I cared to play, the first three pitches of every at bat would freeze for a second and then go through, so timing swings sucked pretty bad. After that game I just turned it off and moved on to Tomb Raider. I think I will wait and see if they can do anything to fix this, and if not I will just get rid of the game.

What is the point of the xp gained and the level from the xp? I'm a level 12, but have no idea what it all means.
