Get $10 Back For Every $50 You Spend on PSN

"PlayStation gamers in North America, take note. Sony has revealed an interesting program that’s going on now and that runs through the entire month of March. And if you’re a big spender on the PlayStation Network, this program can earn you some extra cash.

In short, for every $50 you spend on the PlayStation Network, you’ll receive $10 back in your wallet. And this offer is unlimited. If you spend $100, you get $20. If you spend $300, you get $60. And on and on, in $50 intervals.

Your purchases aren’t only limited to games -- you can also buy TV shows and films -- and the money returned for your purchases will be granted in April, following the lapse of this program. What’s cool about this is that it effectively represents an across the board 20% discount on PlayStation Network, though you should be warned that cash back only kicks in once a $50 threshold is crossed. So spending $50 or $99 will still only net you $10 back. You’d have to go over $100 to get $20 back, and so on.

Consider this a public service announcement from your friendly IGN PlayStation editor."

As for me, good timing, I intend to purchase Tomb Raider (hopefully will be available at the PSN store), GOW Ascension and Bioschock Infinite.

Does anyone know if the gifts from Sony count towards the $50? I have the $10 they gave out last week and $8 left from the promotion a couple months ago when they gave $20 if you spent $100. To get the $10 back do I need to spend $50 of my own money or $32?

I understand it's the amount you need to spend.
I mean I have $20 in my wallet. I will add 40$ to purchase a game on the PSN store. I'll get $10 back.

The last time they had promotions like this I received $20 for spending $100, the next month they had spend $50 get $10, I used the $20 from the first promotion towards the second and still received the $10.

Renewing PS+ is a good way of taking advantage of these promotions.

Thanks maxDam77 and Hatcher. I'll probably renew my PS+ subscription and pick up a cheap PSN mini.
