No worries. This setup is temporary, until I move to my wife in the UK. I'm just trying to accommodate myself as much as possible with the media player, until my visa comes through. When I get there, my drives are going into a NAS, directly wired into mini hub along with the DUNE. wink.gif

Im on B6, but figured out the problem. I turned up the gain on my sub and works much better now.

Thanks for the help!

This same problem occurred with my other Sigma based player (WD TVsmp). It might be worth a try.

Did you have to re-rip the original source first or is it as easy as loading the stuttering mkv in mkvmergeGUI and remux with FPS set to 24000/1001?

What was the culprit?

I just remuxed.

One more question. For creating ISOs (both BD and DVD), what is the best software (preferably free, although not a requirement) for doing so? And is there a way of compressing the ISOs to save on storage space, without losing any of the full menu capability?

Thank you again, everyone.

Any thoughts, anyone? Thanks.

I prefer the AnyDVD HD + ImgBurn route. However, you can create ISOs with AnyDVD HD, alone.

No. IMO, "save on storage space" and "ISOs" don't belong in the same sentence. wink.gif

Ha ha, I understand. But the reason I ask is because I've looked at probably more than a dozen free trials of software to create ISOs, and I remember some setting in all of those somewhere that allows you to create a BD50 as a BD25, or some such thing, which I thought meant that it would compress the full disc contents. Is that not correct, or is it just that you can't use the full menus once you've done that?

Is automatic update (over the internet) the only option to update firmware on Dune HD TV303D?
I am not planning to connect the player to the network, and couldn’t find ANY firmware available for download?!

Thanks

It appears to be the case which is odd as it was never an issue on my WD TV live.

Now I'm having issues getting Yadis 2.2 to work. Got as far as the program finding all the info for my movies but when I export it doesnt show up on my Dune. I installed a USB as suggested in the installation guide but can't figure out how to get the Yadis shortcut on my Dune.

Under Network, go to USB Storage....from here, there should be a yADIS folder, where you saved your export files. To setup a Shortcut on Dune, you must press with Popup Menu button on the remote, when the folder is highlighted (not selected), then select Add to Favorites. From tnere, you have the option to Launch to Power On in the popup menu, once you have Yadis in the Favorites menu.

I update mine from B3, to B4, to B5 through USB.

http://files.dune-hd.com/firmware/tv303d/dune_firmware_tv303d_130221_1050_b4.dff.zip
http://files.dune-hd.com/firmware/tv303d/dune_firmware_tv303d_130222_1831_b5.dff.zip
http://files.dune-hd.com/firmware/tv303d/dune_firmware_tv303d_130515_2104_b6.dff.zip

Make sure you unzip file, then copy the dff file to your thumbdrive... plug the thumbdrive to TV303d...go to Source...select the dff file.

You don't have to do the firmware update by sequence. You can just update to the latest one. You can do this via internet as well.
no, for those beta you need to do it sequentially. If you don't install b4 first, b5 won't install and same thing for b6. That's the first time they did it this way and it is true that previously you could go from any firmware to another even if there were 2 or 3 firmwares in-between.

Thanks for the tip. I currently have the USB drive attached to the Dune. Should I take it out and plug it into my PC and copy the exported files? I can not see the USB drive on my network when plugged into and formatted by the dune.

Most welcome.

I would highly recommend you plug it into the PC and copy the exported files, as it would take much longer, via wireless. You should be able to see your USB drive on the Dune from Windows Explorer, under Network > Dune > [root folder of USB drive], as long as you have the USB drive formatted under a compatible file system.

Good luck.

Great, thanks! That makes more sense. So do I need to do this every time I add a new movie? Also, which folder or files should I be coping to thebusb drive?
if you can't see your dune from your PC explorer it might be because it's still using "dune" as network name instead of the usal "workgroup". You can correct that in the dune setup/apps/smb (if i remember correctly).

Yes, you will need to Export every time you make changes to the media catalog. The Export function handles the file sorting for you, as long as you continually use the same folder, on the USB drive. It's only necessary to have the USB drive connected to the PC, if you're doing a bulk Export. After your first Export (which may take the longest), every following Export will be incremental.

Under Windows Explorer, create a "yaDIS" folder in the root directory of the USB drive. When you have it plugged into the Dune, the directory structure will look different when connected to the Dune looking on your PC, but the files will remain intact. When you switch USB drive locations between the PC and Dune player, DO NOT FORGET to change the Dune Interface Location.

I haven't changed the Network Name on my Dune, and I can see the portable USB drive from the Dune player just fine, on my PC..

strange, everybody I know needed to change the network name of the dune to "workgroup" in order to be able to see it in the explorer under Network. If you keep "dune" your PC can't see it (or may be can see it if you use the IP address ?).

Also : doing the first export with the USB drive into the PC is a good idea as it should be the biggest transfer to do. After this one, with the incremental export, using wifi should be fast enough to have the USb drive connected to the dune and export through your network.
I have a question. If i were to put 4 usb drives in a hard drive bay and plug the bay into the dune, would the dune see one large drive? Or 4 separate drives?

Thanks a bunch and Mr.Eric for clarification. I wonder why the files are not available in firmware zone when you navigate the Dune-HD site??

Well, I got it working perfectly for a brief moment by coping the files to the USB thumb drive that was connected to the dune. I then plugged back the USB into my dune changed the workspace and interface location in yadis to the USB drive and now nothing works.

The yadis app now won't see any of the movies on my network even if I plug it directly into the PC.

I'm still confused about where to change the locations to when the USB drive is in my dune vs PC.

It was great while it lasted.

You need to make sure your shared folders are setup correctly, in yaDIS. Plus, DO NOT move the workspace location. All the data from your media catalog is stored there, for your exported data to the USB drive. Under each folder, you need to setup shared permissions with the proper network paths for the Samba share. Example: smb://ComputerLogin:Password@ComputerIPaddressFromRouter/folder

Untitled.jpg 893k .jpg file

As for the USB drive, when you plug it into the Dune, simply look for "Dune" under the Network folder in Windows Explorer, and the yaDIS folder will show up.

Untitled2.jpg 753k .jpg file

The only other alternative is using Zappiti, instead of yaDIS, which configs the step-by-step information for you.

Just change the path for the export folder depending where is your USB drive plugged (pc or dune) everything else should stay the same. The workspace should always be on your pc and you should never touch it.

i don't think you can do it with bdvm structures or ISO. External subtitles should only work with simple files like mkv, avi,...
