Still missing 10 email addresses. Please send them to me as soon as you can.

Also, if your plans have changed and you can't make it let me know so we can open it up again.

Getting closer. Planning lots of good stuff for an entire day of audio nirvana.

We will probably be starting at 10:30 but will confirm as we get closer.

I can't wait. Should be a good time.

Hi guys,

I wanted to confirm I'll be bringing the red cherry Catalyst 12C's and stands I had on display at Axpona last month:

If we want we can also play with the alternate DSP program I have loaded which extends the response down to that of a SubMersive letting them run full range without a sub.

Its nice to see the Cherry 12C's in the queue!

Can't wait to give these another listen in a different environment - looking forward to seeing you there Mark!

Great picture of the setup by the way!

Wanted to give dlbeck a quick public thanks for letting me come over to his house and audition his Salk HT2-TL's as I am looking to get some Salk's and can't make it to the get together. He also had his dual JTS Captivator S2's up and running....well for at least half of the demo wink.gif, My wife would kick me out of the house if I had them and turned them up. I am jealous of you guys getting to hear a great lineup of speakers.

I've have received lots of good input on songs for the event but I could use some more top picks from the attendees. Please send me your input or PM me as soon as you can and no later than next Friday (4/12). Also missing 3 emails. Thanks to those who have sent them.

David,

Are there any tracks from the NE GTG that could be used? I see they have around 40 on the list.....

Yes I have been reviewing their list and adding some of them. If you have specific requests though please let me know.
Please let me know if an spot comes open and at least, I hope people will post thoughts/reviews!
David, just sent you a PM.
I am not familiar with most of the tracks on the list, but if there was one I would like to see included, it would be Metallica's Seek and Destroy.

Updated original post with start time of 10:30am. Please be there on-time or let me know what time you are arriving. I usually wait for everyone to arrive before we start so please arrive early because we have a full day planned.

Thanks!

David,

The NE g2g folks posted their music/movie selection on skydrive in FLAC format. Might be worth a listen to see if any piece of it Is worth implementing in your meet. I'm downloading it now and will listen through it today.

I heard from Lynx Studios today that they will be sending us a Lynx Aurora 8-USB DAC ($2195) and probably a Lynx Hilo DAC ($2495) for use during the GTG. These will be used during the blind listening portion of the day so we can instantly switch to a different speaker system.

The signal chain for the day is computer > DAC > amplifiers > speakers with only balanced interconnects being used. We will have 5 monoblock amps, 1 stereo amp, and the 2 built-in subwoofer amps that all have balanced inputs. For some systems, the price of all the gear and speakers being used will be over $20,000.

The majority of the event will be the formal auditions of the 6 speaker sets that we have. Besides a number of other things that we are doing we will be taking song requests during each of the formal auditions. I have a lot of music but of course not everything. For songs that you want during the request time I ask that you send me that content before the event. I don't want to be importing a bunch of music the day of the event. Feel free to PM me to inquire about a specific selection. All input is welcome except for carp...he is out of requests ;-). And yes I have plenty of Dream Theater.
Ha, yeah I was a bit needy - but I did restrain myself and didn't ask for any music with growling vocals.

the "cookie monster" vocal is an acquired taste. I am not quite there yet.

Dlbeck,
I regret to inform you I will be unable to attend. Thanks for holding the spot though!

You guys will have a great time!

Hey guys,

I have a TC Sounds 15" (the old TC-1000) and matching plate amp (from Parts Express). I never ended up using them, and it is about time to send them off to a good home. If anyone is interested, let me know via PM. I can bring them with, when I head there for the meet.... Gracias!
