Did you get your flexraid up and running ? What is your parity drive ?
I did but I don't see the need right now. I am just going to stick with nightly backups and a single on-line copy of everything.
D: 2TB for documents, home videos, software, music and image -> G: 2TB
E: 3TB for movies -> H: 3TB
F: 4TB for recorded TV (not backed up until I get a 4TB drive)
I also have a 2TB hotswap drive for taking a mirror image of the 2TB backup drive off-site.
In that scenario, I don't see what anything RAID or pooling really buys me. Maybe if I were starting from scratch but not when I already had all this stuff and I add so little media over time. The 2TB isn't even half full, the 3TB 2/3 full after 5 years of this and the 4TB is maybe 1/2 full but only because I haven't gone through and deleted all the stuff already watched. I might care about the recorded TV movies so I'd like to get a 4TB to back that up in a couple of months and getting a 4TB drive for backup will cost me only a bit more than buying FlexRAID itself.
DriveBender V2.0 with folder-level duplication might interest me if they implement that.
