Need help with connections to multiple devices!

I am looking for some direction on how to hook up my equipment for the best possible scenario and any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll just start with what I have:

Sharp 60" LC-60LE600U HDTV (3 HDMI, 1 Component, 1 Composite)
DirecTV Genie HD DVR (1 HDMI)
Samsung HT-E5500W 5.1 Stereo (2 HDMI in, 1 HDMI out, 1 Red&White in)
Sony PS3 (1 HDMI)
Nintendo Wii (Composite)
Sony PS2 (Component)

Here is the setup I had working until I replaced the Red & White audio from Samsung stereo to TV with HDMI & now I have no audio.

DirecTV to TV via HDMI
PS3 to TV via HDMI
Samsung stereo to TV via Red & White (upgraded to HDMI and now have no audio)
Wii and PS2 no change

Here's what I've tried:

- Already had TV speakers changed to just use the Samsung receiver audio
- Verified inputs on both TV and Samsung receiver are correct
- Checked settings in the Samsung menu

Basically, all I did was swap the Red & White audio cable for an HDMI cable to get real surround instead of having stereo + prologic.

Any help on connections, menu settings, etc would be greatly appreciated! - Thanks!

When you say you replaced red/white analog with HDMI, I presume you mean you connected the HDMI out on the receiver to an HDMI in on the TV. Is that correct? You would only get audio that way if BOTH your TV and your receiver support ARC. If they do, then you need to enable HDMI-CTL (CEC) and ARC on both devices and be sure you're using the HDMI(ARC) port on the TV. If ARC is not available or you don't want to use it, then you need to connect digital (toslink or coax, whichever the TV has) to the receiver.

However, unless your Sharp TV outputs 5.1 audio from connected devices, you won't get surround sound anyway. Most HDTVs only output 5.1 from their internal tuner (OTA TV). Since your AVR has two HDMI inputs, you'll get better sound by connecting the PS3 and the DVR directly to the AVR. The HDMI cable between the AVR and TV will send video to the TV and the audio will be processed by the AVR.
