JBL Northridge N24AWII as Surround Speakers?

Please know the hand behind my back (wife) is calling the shots here (white decor).

Wanted to know if these JBL Northridge N24AWII can be used as decent surround speakers to complement my modest JBL830's fronts & LC1 Centers & Polk PSW10 Sub in a 18'Lx16'W family room.

Use for mostly movie watching in a 5.1 setup.
Using a Sony 810 AVR.

Any feedback would appreciated.

Sure, why not? For most movie viewing I'm sure they'd be adequate. I have a pair of older Northridge N24s I use as front height speakers and I really can't complain.

For multi-channel music listening things are a bit different, and a closer match between the surrounds and fronts would be a much bigger plus.

Thanks for feedback. So you have another recommendation that would match my setup? Color independent... LOL.
