HELP! Denon Avr 888 Suddenly no sound zone 1

HI All!
Im fairly new here and not sure what the heck is going on with my denon 888. Its been working fine for a couple years, All of the sudden I turn on the TV/power and i hear a loud muffled sound come through the speakers...then nothing but silence. I just turned it off, then when my husband came home he turned it on and it worked? (No jokes please

) After several hours it stopped working again for HIM. I figured it just sort of "blew up" BUT Zone 2 in my kitchen works fine. Any Ideas or are we just screwed?:eek

try spraying some compressed air in the headphone jack. It might seem silly but I've seen it work.

Ok..had fingers crossed but this didnt work ..thanks for the tip anyway!!! I also sprayed the top vents and plug connections with air.

What does the front panel of the 888 display when there is no audio heard? If it says something like "H/P ON" then you'll need to blow more compressed air into the headphone jack (or insert/remove a headphone plug a few times) otherwise if not, you may want to try resetting the microprocessor (p. 49 OM) which will return all settings to factory defaults.
